Description

A stunning and rarely found colour, this antique games box is Regency in period dating to around 1830.

The box is decorated in a classical design with the top featuring two intertwined over-flowing Cornucopia; the sides decorated with a plethora of foliate scroll work incorporating birds and Squirrels.

The box stands on four original gilded paw feet and each side retains it's original gilded ring handle.

Once opened, the original paper lining is revealed complete with four decks of period cards, counters etc.

A fine period box in superb condition with minor (insignificant) surface wear complete with a replacement working key.

11 1/4" x 8 1/2" x 4 1/2".
