A fine and charming Georgian Tea Caddy. The caddy is made mahogany which is inlaid on all sides with boxwood and ebony stringing with a large central diamond of ebony on the lid and front, with a ivory shield shaped escutcheon. The interior is sectioned with two tea sections and a mixing bowl centre. The interior is beautifully inlaid with box and ebony stringing and with panels of bur walnut. The caddies retain the original lead lining, but the mixing bowl is a later addition. The whole is an exceptionally clean and untouched tea caddy of a fine Georgian design. C.1810.
