The leather has been professionally replaced to give another 150 years of service. The top section opens to reveal a fabulous Satinwood lining, a large compartment to store stationery, letters and the like. The flap is inlaid with a brass plaque signed by the manufacturer, Hall & Co. / 56 King St., Manchester.

The lock is top-notch with a working key, signed by one of the the finest locksmiths, G. Betjemann & Sons, Makers London.
Excellent in every way, measuring 14 1/2" wide x 10 1/2" deep x 7 1/2" to top of domed section.
