Stunning Antique Indian Carved Rosewood Box / Casket C.1820

Description

A wonderful and highly decorative early nineteenth century figural casket, Indian in origin and dating to around 1820, so George III in era.

Made from solid and exotic Rosewood, the carvings are beautifully executed and undoubtedly tell a story.

The box is supported by four handsome Lion's paw feet. The box has a newer hand marbled paper lining on the interior, creating a good clean finish and ready to use if you desire.

Complete with a working taselled key, it remains in wonderful condition. A stunning decorative gem! The footprint measures 11" x 8 1/2" and stands 6 1/2" tall.
