FAQs

Art Deco furniture, emerging in the 1920s and 1930s, is characterised by geometric forms, clean lines, bold symmetry, and fine surface veneers.

Makers frequently utilised figured wood veneers, such as burr maple, walnut, and satinwood, applied over solid timber frames with crossbanded decorative borders.

Authentic pieces from the era typically feature period-correct joinery, natural timber grain variations, solid plinth bases, and integrated wooden or metal handles.

Positioning a matching pair symmetrically on either side of a bed frame creates balanced proportions, while the natural warm wood tones complement neutral interior wall palettes.

Dust the surfaces regularly with a soft dry cloth, keep the timber away from direct sunlight to avoid bleaching, and maintain consistent humidity levels to protect the veneer from lifting.
