Description

Early 19th‑century Scottish longcase clock in richly figured mahogany, the dial signed Tait, Peebles. The case is well proportioned, with an arched trunk door and fine stringing, and the hood crowned by three brass finials including a bold central eagle. The painted dial shows Roman numerals with subsidiary seconds and date. The 8‑day movement comes with its weights and a beautifully decorated pendulum, painted with a star and foliate scrolls in gold, green and red. A strong, characterful Scottish clock with presence and charm — a true statement piece.
