In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A 14-day striking mantel clock is a mechanical timepiece designed to sit on a fireplace mantel or shelf, featuring a spring-driven movement that requires winding once every fortnight while sounding an audible chime on the hour and half-hour.

Clocks from this era typically feature cases constructed from solid walnut, oak, or mahogany, often styled with architectural turned finials and carved mouldings, housing brass mechanical movements and glass doors.

Authentic Hamburg American Clock Company pieces frequently display the crossed arrows trademark stamped onto the brass clockwork movement or printed directly on the dial face.

Position the clock centrally on a stone or timber mantelpiece, flanked by minimalist ceramic vases or monochrome artwork to create a balanced focal point that bridges traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design.

Keep the wood casing away from direct sunlight and central heating sources to prevent timber movement, dust the exterior gently with a dry microfibre cloth, and ensure the mechanical clockwork is professionally serviced every three to five years.
