Description

An exceptional and quite beautiful Tunbridgeware box dating to around 1870, Victorian in era.

Unusually, the base timber used is exotic Coromandel and decorated with wonderful Tunbridge Floral panels.

The other interesting feature about these panels is the use of some wonderful and colourful micro-mosaic, notably the vibrant green colour.

The interior has been re-lined in a hand marbled paper, creating a lovely clean finish ready for use.

Complete with working taselled key the box is in superb condition with a bright polished patina showcasing the timbers. 9" x 7" x 4".
