Antique Pair French Kingwood Marquetry Inlaid Marble Top Bedside Cabinets Nightstands

A superb pair of antique French kingwood marquetry inlaid marble top bedside cabinets, beautifully crafted with elegant proportions, shaped marble tops and exquisite floral marquetry. These highly decorative cabinets are equally suited for use as bedside cabinets, lamp tables or accent cabinets in both traditional and contemporary interiors.

Each cabinet is veneered in kingwood with wonderfully vibrant colour and striking chevron-pattern veneers to the drawer fronts and sides, enhanced with delicate floral marquetry inlay. The serpentine-front drawers are fitted with ornate original gilt bronze handles, while impressive gilt bronze mounts adorn each front corner. The beautifully figured marble tops feature an elegant serpentine outline and complement the warm tones of the kingwood perfectly.

Offering both beauty and practicality, each cabinet has two generously sized drawers, making them ideal for bedroom storage whilst serving as elegant statement pieces. Their graceful cabriole legs terminate in finely cast gilt bronze sabots, completing the refined French design.

Originally made as luxurious bedside cabinets for a fashionable French bedroom, they remain just as desirable today and are wonderfully versatile pieces of furniture.

Presented in good antique condition with minor marks and surface wear consistent with age and careful use. The marble tops are in excellent condition, the drawers run well and the cabinets have a beautiful rich colour and patina acquired over more than a century.
