This wonderful antique French / Belgian tobacco jar which dates from c1900 comes from a French tobacconist shop. This unusual jar was used to store Semois tobacco which was a very popular tobacco in the late 19th / early 20th century and only grown along the river banks in Belgium.
This red jar has a wonderful shape with faded gold detailing and a nice patina giving it just the right look. There is an original shop label to the inside lid with Samois handwritten.
An unusual jar that looks fantastic and ideal for display in a bar, hotel, shop or your home.

Condition: Well used antique condition with wear, marks, chips and light dents. Has a wonderful patina. Please see pictures.
