Carse Antiques has dated this Blue Lacquer Grandmother Clock to the 19th Century.
Made in the mid to late 19th century the case has been constructed from period oak timbers. The 8 day movement is a similar movement as those found in bracket clocks with original brass and silver dial with strike silent. The blue lacquer and gilt decoration to the case is all original with minor wear as to be expected. The clock has been fully serviced and as such is in perfect working order. You'll never see another one !!!!
Provenance; Originally sold at the London Olympia Antique fair in 1988 by one of the top clock dealers of the time for £15,000.
SIZE; 11" wide by 7" deep by 60" (5 foot) high.
