This pair of eighteenth-century Georgian whisky dram glasses dates from the reign of King George II around 1740 to 1750. Formed from clear lead glass, the vessels each present a round funnel bowl detailed with wheel-engraved draped swags and hanging pendants, a plain stem, and a wide conical folded foot. A small closed air bubble is visible within one of the bowls. Standing with a height of 10.1 cm, a rim diameter of 5 cm, and a foot diameter of 5.8 cm, the set exhibits no chips, cracks, or restoration. Suitable for display atop a sideboard in a traditional gentleman's library or dining room, these pieces bring period character to a tabletop setting. They serve as a practical addition to an established collection of historic glassware or as decorative accessories for formal entertaining. The transparent finish and classic proportions complement both period and contemporary interior styles while highlighting traditional British glassmaking techniques.

A dram glass is a compact 18th-century drinking vessel designed specifically for serving strong spirits such as whisky or gin, characterised by its small bowl capacity and robust construction.

During the mid-18th century, English glassware was mouth-blown from lead crystal, featuring hand-drawn stems and folded foot rims created by folding the edge of the foot underneath to prevent chipping.

Authentic pieces typically feature a folded foot rim, slight asymmetry from hand-blowing, a greyish tint to the lead glass, hand-executed wheel engraving, and a ground or raw pontil mark beneath the base.

Display them alongside a vintage decanter on a styled bar cart, inside a lit glazed cabinet, or atop a sideboard tray to create a curated focal point.

Wash carefully by hand using lukewarm water and mild liquid detergent, avoiding hot water and dishwashers to prevent thermal shock and chemical clouding.
