Georgian jelly glass. Jelly glass with single handle, ribbed body above a beaded knop and domed slightly ribbed foot English1750.

Rim dia: 7.1 cm.

Foot dia: 6.8 cm.

Weight: 211 grams.

Condition: Very good.

Note: A substantial glass.

Provenance: The Christopher Farlow Collection.

A Georgian jelly glass is a small, specialized glass vessel produced in 18th-century Britain specifically for serving jellies, syllabubs, and sweetmeats at formal dessert courses.

English glassware of this period was primarily crafted from heavy lead crystal (flint glass), hand-blown, and featured applied handles, cut or ribbed fluting, and pontil marks on the base where the glassmakers rod was detached.
