19th century burr walnut pedestal cupboard circa 1870

We are pleased to offer this stunning pedestal cupboard which are becoming increasingly rare to find, made in burr walnut with ebony stringing.

Shaped like a column, these type of cupboards would be used to display a bust or floral arrangement on top and providing storage inside with the means of 2 shelves and a slot rack.  our example has been made in walnut with burr and ebony strung panels to the front, beaded and molding detailing.  working lock and key, all raised on a plinth base.

Recently re-polished by hand in our workshop and maintaining it's original colour.  1 area of restoration to the bottom of the door (photographed) which has been done to a high standard.  minor surface marks to woodwork in line with age and use.
