A good quality Georgian twin fusee wall clock by celebrated clockmaker James Murray of London. The mahogany case has brass sound frets to either sides, and the clock has a brass bezel with a 12 inch white painted dial which has Roman numerals and the makers name -

The movement has been cleaned and serviced and comes with a 12 month guarantee.

James Murray was born in Scotland in 1780, he opened his business at Royal Exchange in London in 1815. He was a highly skilled watch, clock and chronometer maker, winning the top prize at the prestigious Greenwich trials in 1823 for his chronometer. His chronometers were also used by explorer William Parry onboard the HMS Beagle. James Weddle also used his chronometer, which
...helped him reach the most southern point by any ship at the time in 1823. His business was successfully carried on by his two sons James and John. James Murray died in 1847.
