Striking 19th-Century Mahogany Campaign Filing or Drawing Cabinet, English circa 1890 This exceptionally well presented late Victorian mahogany campaign cabinet, dating from around 1890, was originally designed as a folio, map or filing chest and beautifully combines refined military style with superb practical storage. Made in solid mahogany with quality tongue-and-groove construction, it is a very rare example retaining all eleven of its original drawers and brass handles, arranged in an unusual configuration of six smaller drawers over five larger, graduated drawers.The rectangular top has a moulded edge and is inset with black tooled leather, giving the piece a smart and tailored appearance.
