A fine and rare Georgian painted penwork tea caddy. The tea caddy is of a simple form with canted corners. The box is covered in paper or a thin veneer of wood which has been intricately hand painted and drawn with various motifs including floral swags, fans, and to the top a singing bird in a tree as well as the single letter B to the front. The box is in very good condition with just some minor areas of wear and loss.
