A Late 18th Century Etched Gin Glass

£125    $167    €146
A rare and collectable Georgian drinking glass from the late 18th century. Denoting the glass as a dwarf gin glass rather than the more commonly found port, is the cut pattern of juniper berries and leaves to the body. The glass has wrythen petal moulding to the lower part of the bowl, knop and foot collar. The foot has a broken pontil mark. With today''s fashion for flavoured Gins that are often drunk without mixers, this is the perfect glass. A charming example of good collector''s piece, with a practical use 230 years on. Dimensions below.
