Antique French Gilt Bronze / Brass Jewellery Casket with Hand-Painted Miniature Portrait – 19th Century

A fine quality 19th-century French gilt bronze/brass jewellery casket, beautifully made and richly decorated with intricate floral and swag detailing typical of elegant French decorative metalwork of the period.

The lid is adorned with a centrally positioned circular miniature portrait, finely hand-painted and signed, and protected beneath glass. This charming feature adds both character and collectability, making the piece particularly appealing as a decorative dressing table or vanity casket.

The casket is solid and well constructed, with a pleasing weight and impressive craftsmanship throughout. The interior is lined in green velvet, providing a soft setting for storing jewellery, trinkets, or keepsakes.

Condition
