Rare Bristol High Water Lunar Moonphase 8 day Longcase Clock Dial and Movement. Georgian Circa 1770.
Beautifully engraved dial in near perfect original condition. Finely detailed applique work. A seconds dial, date aperture and lunar moon phases showing high water at Bristol quay (KEY). Signed to the dial ''''Thos Wynn, Bristol''''. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours on a bell.
Thomas Wynn of Bristol is recorded in A J Moores ''''The Clockmakers of Bristol'''' book as working from 1763. He was married in 1763 in Almondsbury (North Bristol).
Condition: Superb original condition with nicely toned patina (untouched). Ticks and strikes with pressure on the great wheels. Supplied with matching pair of clock-face brass globes. [No cabinet].
