Masons Antiques has dated this piece to the 1880s.
The burr walnut case is beautifully french polished with a lovely, age related patina. It has been cleaned and waxed in order to retain it's original provenance. The glazed, fully opening front door is key lockable.

The dial, again in immaculate condition, has a silvered chapter ring with engraved black Roman numerals. It has gilt cherub spandrels to the corners with a matted gilt centre.
The clock strikes on the quarters and the hour playing the Westminster chime. It strikes on heavy steel coils giving a beautiful, crisp resonating tone. It is fitted with a STRIKE/SILENT button. It has just been fully serviced by our BHI horologist and carries our usual 12mths full parts and labour guarantee.
An outstanding, quality, and classic mantel clock.
