Description

A good quality Victorian specimen cabinet with 6 drawers and a glazed door. The cabinet itself is made from pine with its original stained finish and the door is mahogany. It stands on a plinth base and each drawer has turned wooden knobs. It is a good quality piece and it comes with its original working key.

The cabinet would have originally been used to house a collection of butterflies or insects and each drawer has a white lining and a sliding glass cover.

It is in good original condition and is certainly a very usable item. There are signs of age and use and it has picked up a few knocks, scuffs and marks over the years but nothing untoward and it has a good aged patina. The drawers open and close smoothly and are generally clean and tidy. There are some signs of historic worm in the back which has all been treated as a precaution.
