Richard Anthony Rush Antiques has dated this Chinoiserie Bracket Clock to the 1900s.
The black Chinoiserie & gilt lacquerwork are executed to an exceptionally high standard. The clock features a French movement (stamped, as shown in the photographs) by Samuel Marti, the renowned Parisian clockmakers celebrated for their high quality craftsmanship in the late 19th century & awarded the Médaille d’Or in 1900.

The movement has been fully serviced by a member of the Royal Horological Society & strikes on the half hour as well as the hour. The clock is accompanied by its original keys: one for winding & one for locking the front door. Measurements given are of the case. Height including handle is 38cm.
