Description

This is a very good quality and weighty Victorian Sterling silver gilt shaped rectangular form snuff box with gilt interior. Large oval shaped vacant cartouche to the lid. Lovely engine turning to all sides.

Hallmarked for Sheffield 1897 by William Neale, a highly regarded silversmith of the period.

It measures 6 cm x 4.5 cm x 2 cm and weighs a hefty 73.5 grams.

Condition is very good, hallmarks are good, the gilt interior is still good, a few small dings and scratches, signs of wear commensurate of age and use.
