Victorian Writing Slope C. 1870

Description

Ornately carved Victorian walnut writing slope with a parquetry inlay, the inlay is exceptional with no missing pieces. The veneers are beautiful quality with fine colours and patination. The interior is original with a lidded pen tray, the original felt lines the writing surface and again is in excellent condition, as are the compartments for storage. This is a beautiful example of a Victorian writing slope c.1870 serving as both a functional antique as well as being a piece of social history.
