Georgian Timepiece Drop Dial Wall Clock by Condliff of Liverpool

Description

A good quality Georgian antique drop dial wall clock with mahogany case and decorative brass inlay, pendulum viewing window and shaped top. The clock has a 12 inch painted dish dial with Roman numeral and the makers name -

The eight day duration clock has a single fusee movement with anchor escapement.

James Condliff set up his business in 1816, at Gerard Street in Liverpool. As his business expanded, he became very successful and known for his regulators and skeleton clocks. Other family members joined the business including, Joseph, John and Thomas. The last Condliff of Liverpool is recorded as working up until 1914.

The movement has been cleaned and serviced and comes with a 12 month guarantee.

Width - 33 cm (13 inches)

Depth - 17 (6 ¾ inches)

Circa - 1825
