Description

For sale, a fine example of a Japanese Cloisonné Ginbari Enamel small round box and lid, white metal mounts and white metal wire inlay, (probably silver), dating to the Meiji period. Decorated to the lid with an exotic flower and leaves all in the Ginbari style, the main body in a pale green enamel, with darker green semi-circle design at the rim, repeated on the bottom section. The top and bottom rims and foot rim mounted in white metal, (probably silver). The interior and base picked out in a blue enamel. This small collectors object is in fine original and undamaged or restored condition, free from chips, cracks lines and bruises. Size 5.2cm diameter and 2.8cm tall.
