This Oak corner cabinet is a rather special example. I know we have had numerous examples over the years but this one has the break front with the pillars to the sides. The pillars are reeded and carry an inlay to the top and bottom of each. The H hinges are tidy and fully operational and what we believe is the original escutcheon in front of the lock. There is a key but although working the lock is worn and not perfect. This cupboard dates from the 1700s and some later work, ie adding of the castellations on the cornice. It is tidy inside, having been painted over the years in green, a popular thing to have been done on these. The cross banded Oak doors are quarter sawn and display good examples of medullary rays in the grain. A lovely example with good colour and graining in very presentable overall condition.
