An immaculate fine quality Victorian oval cased four glass mantel clock with original gilded finish and 8 day French movement, fully serviced and working c.1885. The cast brass oval case with original immaculate gilt finish, bowed quarter plate bevelled edge glass to all four sides with hinged doors to the front and rear. Cream porcelain enamel dial with with decorative floral swags running continuously round the centre of the dial, decorative cast gilt brass bezel and blued steel hands. The 8 day duration French movement with anchor escapement, gong striking on the hour and half hour and mercury compensated pendulum.
