Cross Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
It is by Jonas Collett of Market Place, Fackenham, Norfolk. He is listed as working there from 1830 to 1866.
The nicely figured mahogany case is in good original condition and a lovely colour. The long trunk door has a working lock and key.
To the arch is a rocking ship automaton.
The case is in good condition but does have a fine crack to the base.
The movement is in good working order and keeping good time.
