Antique English Dentist’s Collector’s Jewellery Cabinet

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Pareglio & Ayres Antiques Interiors

This mahogany cabinet, circa 1900, now has multiple uses. The graduated drawers are perfect for displaying a collection of curiosities, a jewellery collection or a watch collection, to name but a few. Made in London by Claudius Ash & Sons, at the end of Queen Victoria’s reign and the beginning of the Edwardian era, this piece was originally a dentist’s cabinet.

It now has stand alone appeal for being a unique piece of furniture, with fourteen drawers, five cupboard spaces and a swing out door, for holding a bottle of single malt maybe.

Most of the drawers, as well as the top surface area, have milky white glass liners and the central cupboard has a working lock and key. A really interesting piece of quality workmanship made from mahogany and easily movable thanks to the original wheels.

Condition: one glass drawer has some hairline cracks and the drop down cupboard door also has one hairline crack but it is solid and firm; the black wooden pull knobs are replacements. Please study the photos as these form part of the description and please ask for more detailed photos to satisfy yourself.

N.B. On the photos there is a reflection effect on the bottom half of the cabinet, which varies from photo to photo.
