Gill Coe Antiques & Interiors has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
There is a drawer in the front which is for other medical pieces. There is a brass inset carrying handle on top of the box. The museum of Melbourne purchased the entire contents of Savory & Moore when the shop finally closed. The museum shipped it over and then set it up as it would have looked in New Bond Street. The box has it's original maker's plaque - It reads: Prize Medal 1862 - 'Chemists to the Queen, 143 New Bond Street, London'
