In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The box is fitted with a good quality maroon leather writing surface with a gilt tooled edge. It comes with a pair of glass inkwells and its original pen tray. Both top and bottom sections of the writing surface lift up to reveal extra storage space below.
The box is in very good condition for its age.
The leather writing surface is in excellent order and the interior is generally clean and tidy. It has been cleaned and lightly polished and is ready for use.
