The Georgian mahogany bedside table can be used to great effect when decorating an interior, and this is a particularly appealing example that dates to between 1800 - 1830. At every stage of its design and construction the cabinet maker has gone to great lengths to make this table visually appealing as well as practical. .This table is a perfect resting place for a lamp, a favourite book or two, and a bottle of your chosen tipple plus a glass to enjoy it. The choice is yours, as to whether it sits beside the bed, sofa or in your hallway. The mahogany retains warm and appealing tones, indicative of its age, and the lack of any later repairs suggest its been well looked after. The original draw, with its Georgian brass axe head handle, is oak lined and constructed using hand-cut dovetail joints. This piece has been traditionally French polished and waxed within our restoration workshops. A lovely multi-functional antique table.
