Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1890s.
The lid opens to reveal the professionally relined fitted tray, with the interior of the lid being beautifully tufted in the original silk, and the centre with an oval bevelled mirror. The fitted tray has various compartments and the centre is fitted for a pocket watch, now better suited to perhaps a wrist watch or bracelet.
The glazed doors are bevelled and when open reveal two drawers for the storage of plenty of goodies, again beautifully relined to create a clean interior ready for another 100 years of use.
Dating to the late Victorian era, around 1890/1900 it remains in superb condition. 11" x 8 1/2" x 7 1/2" tall.
