Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

FAQs

Yew wood corner cabinets became popular during the 18th century, particularly in Georgian England, as a functional solution for utilising awkward room angles while displaying valued possessions.

These pieces typically feature solid yew wood or yew veneers applied to secondary woods like pine or oak, often constructed with dovetail joints, brass hardware, and hand-cut shelving.

Authentic pieces show age-appropriate patina, hand-cut joinery such as dovetails, subtle timber shrinkage, and traditional fixings rather than modern screws or machine-made mouldings.

It can be integrated into modern spaces by placing it in an underutilised angle to provide vertical storage and contrast against neutral walls while housing curated ceramics or books.

Maintain stable indoor humidity levels, keep the wood away from direct heat sources and sunlight, and periodically nourish the surface with traditional beeswax rather than modern silicone sprays.
