Description

Dating to around 1860, this is a quite exceptional and rarely seen glove box made from cognac coloured Olivewood with a hinged front that opens down.

The top is absolute joy, beautifully inlaid with a plethora of specimen woods to create the most wonderful floral and foliate panels with a highly decorative border.

The interior has been re-lined in a hand marbled paper, creating a clean and attractive finish ready for use.

Dating to around 1860, the box comes complete with working key and in excellent condition. 11 1/8" x 4" x 2 3/4".
