We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Corner cabinets emerged during the early 18th century as a practical space-saving solution for rooms, evolving through Georgian and Victorian periods with increasingly elaborate joinery.

Authentic pieces are typically constructed from dense hardwoods like mahogany or oak, featuring hand-cut dovetail joints, pegged framing, and individual glass panes held by wooden astragal bars.

Authentication involves inspecting the timber for age-related patina, hand-blown or cylinder glass with subtle imperfections, traditional joinery methods, and the absence of modern machine-cut fasteners.

Placing a traditional wooden cabinet in a modern room creates textural contrast; style the interior shelves with a restrained collection of ceramics or glassware to maintain visual balance.

Preservation requires dusting with a dry lint-free cloth, applying traditional beeswax periodically to nourish the timber, and avoiding direct sunlight and moisture fluctuations to prevent wood splitting.
