A Gorge Carriage Clock By Henri Jacot Of Paris.

The eight-day duration movement has a silvered platform lever escapement of a style typical of those used by Jacot and strikes the hour and half-hour on a gong.
 
The movement backplate is stamped with the serial number 11706 along with the Jacot trademark being the initials H.J. either side of a parrot on a perch, being an African grey known as a Jacot. The inside of the plates are stamped with the Jacot poincon oval giving the years of various exposition awards, the last on this oval being 1889 at the Paris Exposition. The gong block is stamped with the initials F.D. within an oval, being a gong maker also used at this time by Henri Jacot and others.
 
The white enamel dial has black Roman hour numerals, Arabic outer five-minute numerals, dots to the outer aspect and blued steel moon hands.
 
The gilded gorge case with typical Jacot five-bail handle.
