This delightful pair of English burr walnut bedside cabinets are in good original condition. As you can see from their distinctive design, they date to the Art Deco period (Circa 1920s). A period of style and opulence that was brought to life so vividly within P G Wodehouse''s novels. A hundred years have passed but their appeal has not diminished. This is because they enhance both contemporary and period interiors. Now they have been traditionally polished, the burr walnut veneer, which was so carefully chosen and laid by the original cabinet maker, has a subtle mirror-like quality. The veneer on the top of each bedside is perfectly matched, so much so, that it reminds you of the outstretched wings of a butterfly. The chrome that coats the original handles is still in excellent condition and the heart motifs, which are cut into the back panel are yet another indication of the maker''s eye for detail and flair.
