Fine Palais Royal Necessaire Sewing Box

Description

Fine quality 19th century French tortoiseshell and brass inlaid Boulle style Palais Royal Necessaire sewing box. The box is basically in pretty good overall condition, all the brass is present, there are only a couple of very small tortoiseshell bits missing. The box is fully fitted inside with various items including mother-of-pearl cotton reels, silver thimble, silver propelling pencil. scent bottle and various scissors and other sewing items. Some are original to the box others are not. Working lock with original key. Old label to the base.
