Victorian Walnut Brass Bound Writing Slope

19th century
Description

A walnut brass writing slope that dates to around 1870

In great original condition with a mid brown waxed finish, a strong walnut configuration on the top and sides, brass bound corners and a blank cartouche and escutcheon

It has a black leather insert with gold tooling and comes with a working lock and key

A divider to the left of the pen tray can be raised to release a panel which reveals a pair of secret drawers

Comes with a pair of screw brass top inkwells

Measures 14 inches wide , 9 inches deep and 6 inches high

a really attractive box that would make a nice present for a loved one
