Carse Antiques has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
The top section has a boxwood or satinwood thumb mould with a satinwood veneered top and a fancy boxwood & ebony line inlay. The caddy has its original gilded brass rococo swan neck handle to the top. The caddy has its original divisions inside with old replacement Edwardian brass working lock. The caddy would originally have had three lift out brass or toleware tea canisters inside. Lovely colour.
