Introducing ''Patience,'' a captivating Early Art Deco figural clock garniture set , made by the a renowned sculptor of the Art Deco era, Suzanne Bizard.
Exquisite clock features a beautifully cast bronze sculpture portraying a youthful nymph gently coaxing a turtle, evoking scene of innocence and tranquillity. The clock case is adorned with intricate gold-plated bronze inlays depicting six turtles in a tropical landscape . Exceptional detailing exudes elegance and quality.
The clock is signed at the back of the sculpture ''M. Charny'', one of the pseudonyms used by Suzanne Bizard.
Entire piece is in very good condition, showing only minimal signs of age and use, as to be expected.
An original, French movement is in good, working condition. Strikes on the hour and half an hour comes with it’s original turtle-shaped clock pendulum.
SUZANNE BIZARD was a sculptor and life member of the French Artists Society. She exhibited at the Paris fair right until 1930. She was awa
...rded an honourable mention in 1900, when her plaster statue Vers l’idéal (N° 1846) was purchased by the French State. She won another bronze medal in 1913. She was specialised in bust portraits, children statuettes and group sculptures.
