The box opens to reveal a lift-out tray with storage space underneath it. The interior of the lid has a drop-down letter compartment that is lined with red silk at the front. Near the lock is a pull-out brass pin that releases a drawer in the lower part of the box.

Very spacious case that would be the perfect size for a jewellery box. Rich and warm patina to the wood that has a beautiful grain.
