Onyx, Champlevé Enamel & Gilt Bronze Table Box / Casket, France, circa 1890

A magnificent onyx, Champlevé enamel and gilt bronze casket, Louis XV Style.

Green onyx panels on each side of the box, with champleve panels on front and sides . Each corner has a heavily decorated bronze and enamel pillar which sits upon a circular Sienna marble platform.

The hinged lid has a central onyx & marble panel, with a wide enamel frieze below. This opens to reveal the original silk buttoned lining. Turquoise & blue tones.

French, Circa 1890
