Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

An Edward VII wall post box is a cast iron letter box manufactured during the reign of King Edward VII between 1901 and 1910 for the British General Post Office. These boxes feature the raised royal cypher ER VII beneath a crown on the top fascia.

These post boxes were manufactured primarily from heavy-duty cast iron to resist weather and attempted theft. They incorporate brass locks and hinges, along with glass or metal frames to display collection time schedules.

Authentic pieces display the raised royal cypher ER VII with a imperial crown, the words POST OFFICE cast above the aperture, and often bear the makers foundry mark near the base, such as W.T. Allen & Co. London.

An antique wall post box can be installed into an exterior masonry wall or gate pillar for functional mail delivery, mounted as decorative wall art in an entryway, or set on a heavy console table as an architectural feature.

Cast iron post boxes should be cleaned with gentle detergent and soft brushes, treating any bare rust spots with a rust converter before applying traditional Post Office Red ironwork paint or protective clear wax.
