Mark Seabrook Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
...one with a "peg" leg playing a fiddle and one leading a bear.....the underneath is also nicely decorated with a central flower motif....the box is in superb condition with no visible damage and is signed Bradwell......Thomas Bradwell is listed in a local Sheffield Directory of 1821 as a die-sinker, engraver and castor of Typographic Ornaments at Bridgehouses.
