A Rare Antique Six Tier Spice Tower

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Opus Antiques

An early 1800s sycamore six tier spice tower. Most spice towers seen are either three or four, taller examples are harder to find. This is a well used example. It has developed a lovely crusty finish. It still has four of its original labels, and part of a fifth.  Mace, Ginger, Cloves, All Spice,  part of Cinnamon, the last label would probably have been for nutmegs.

There is one thin and stable crack on one compartment and a small piece on one of the inner compartments missing, doesnt effect the thread or holding the spices. In great original untouched condition.

The tower measures 28cm h x 9cm w.
