Rare Japanese Meiji (19thC) gold lacquered three-tiered incense box. Beautifully decorated in maki-e on a nashiji ground with chrysanthemums and flower baskets by a lacquer master. Comes in period fitted box. Measures 11.2cm x 7.7cm x 9.5cm high, weighs 153g.

Lovely original condition. Would make a superb addition to a high-quality lacquer collection. A masterpiece.
